seeking info

i am planning to move to thr d.r. soon and would like to learn as much as possible before i go. to that end i have a need of much information and answers to my questions, such as;
what paper work is needed for residency
with my 15 years expirence in construction is seeking employment with a company an option
are guns allowed to be brought into the country
is my u.s.a. credit rating valid in thr d.r., if not what about obtaning a loan for house, car, etc.
what items should i bring with me that might be hard to buy there, or items that could bring in to be sold for a profit
any information would be very helpful. iam sure much has changed since i lived there back in `91. thanks, sean
