Default Metal Detecting

We are considering a vacation to the Dominican Republic. I would like to know if it is possible to metal detect on beaches and the surrounding areas.

Thank you.

Yes but difficult. Do to all the onlookers it creates. Best done in the early morning or late eavning with less people to get in the way.

Possible, sure. Interesting, no. They're so full with trash
your metal detector will start beeping a mile before...

Are you saying that the beaches are full of trash? I thought the DR had very clean beaches.

As of metal detecting, I'd say 10000 to 1 for a brugal cap
to anything valuable...

They ARE quite clean. On the top. Just saying that "treasure
hunting" is probably not the most profitable activity.
Selling sun-block and ice-cream brings more, in less time...

Just bring a good detector that can discriminate between nails, bottle tops, etc so you do not waste your time.

Gold, silver and copper unfortunately have the same magnetic
properties as aluminum - paramagnetic.
There's a lot of aluminum "out there"...
