Dayum. thanks for the info, I have met many people who live in Santo Domingo who are professional folks in the city, online for my upcoming trip to the DR and I would like for them to visit me while I'm there. It's not like I will be bringing hookers into the place! Do you think they will make a exception for obviously non-hookers and professional/business folks? Let me know if this hotel will be no help

Marriott is not guest friendly. It is at least a 25-30 minute brisk walk (as it is about 10 minutes by car) to the Malecon. I already called them and "for our safety and for the safety of other guests at the Courtyard no guests are allowed in the room". They told me that they have guards who walk around the place and check when they see people coming into the hotel.
