Marriott also owns all of the Renaissance Hotels. And if you have been to Santo Domingo before, you'll definitely know that there is a Renaissance along the Malecon, can't miss that flashy thing! Now, Courtyard is less upscale (in general) than the Renaissance, but I've heard about hookers plying their trade in the Casino and Launges of the Jaragua (the Renaissance in STo.Dgo.). I guess the same would apply towards the courtyard, but then again, different management could have different rules.
