If a world class airline like LAN can't break the AA monopoly, our only solution will be to wait until AA goes bankrupt.......someday?
I hope LAN returns with daily flights, starting with their wonderful A-320s. They also invested a lot of money training excellent Dominican pilots and crew in Chile and the USA. NY is a "must" to succeed.
