Based on the context of this thread, I am guessing that it's because the whole project is doubtful. That would give me pause too.
But perhaps they are still selling their way out of a problem--money solves a lot of things.
I do object to kneejerk blanket condemnations of timesharing though--there are successes (yes, for the consumer too) in the DR. This may become one--and may not.
But that's why I asked what else you saw that was positive. Just probing.

I am not interested in time shares really so I was not really interested in much else than seeing the hotel. They did have a lot of extra charges etc that just don't fit the 'independant style' of traveler that I am. I do two or three trips a year mostly to visit family members in the U.K and N.Z. so a time share does not suit my needs.
I am planning on buying a place in the Sosua area within the next year so that is my requirement hopefully.
