Here is the real deal. Its far easier for a spanish speaking man to meet quality ladies than a white bread gringo who can't speak 3 words in spanish to save his life. There are many latinos living in santiago from various countries who are well settled with decent dominican women. I personally know 4 mexicans in this area who are happily settled into this culture. There are people from Peru, ecuador, mexico, costa rica and many other latin countries. You will have the least amount of trouble meeting women here if you are decent looking (not hip hop) and respect the folks around you. Just dress like everyone else and be humorous. You will fit in just fine.
