I've talked to my dominican friend lately and she told me that her father is 55 and her mother is 54 years old so I asked were they almost of the same age when they married? She said yes in the past it was not like nowadays people married young and the couple were of the same age in the DR now it is different men tend to marry late and marry younger women
Please note that my friend is only 35 years old.
