It's possible, but there are other ways she could have got that money, some of them even legitimate.

The bit about not knowing what she does - people can be funny that way. A friend of mine here has a sister in Spain. She is educated to at least bachillerato, and used to work in a bank in the DR.

In Spain she worked as a maid. When she got engaged to a Spanish man, the family were overjoyed. I asked them what he did for a living, and they didn't know. I thought it was strange that they didn't think it important to know if he was a waiter, an architect or a rat-catcher. Maybe the fact that he was an EU passport holder was enough.
