Try the Sueno (or El Sueno). Its a hotel about 1 block to the beach, with awesome 1 BR suites at about $60 a night with nice buffet breakfast. The suites are great, beautiful pool, huge jacuzzi in a seperate room attached to the bathroom, etc... Only downside is no cooking facilities, but there is a small fridge. It is in Cortecito, which is probably the best area to be in if you're not staying in an AI.
