Darker roasts are ill advised. The medium roast is actually best if you know how to make decent espresso or cappucino, or even make the coffee Dominican style in a Greca. this dark roast thing comes from Americans who drink too much Starbucks. Even in Italy, home of the greatest espresso preparations, dark roasts are eschewed in favor or medium roast.
