Shoot! I made it from Cap Cana to Santiago in under 5 hours!! With three short stops. Early on a Sunday morning.
La Romana-> Santiago should be in the 3 1/2 hour range--like they have said--depending on traffic in Santo Domingo.
Here is a hint: When you go across the bridge and take 27 de Febrero, continue to Ortega y Gasset (after the Centro Olímpico) and take a right. Then take a left on the street next to the Hospital de las Fuerzas Armadas and go to Tiradentes. Right on Tiradentes, left on John F. Kennedy and off to the Cibao!! You will save up to 15 minutes with this trick.
