By the way... We know that anyone can set any price for an exchange rate.. That is NOT the issue. When asked for US dollars, you should NOT charge the credit card in pesos. Tropical Clubs Sueño resort was the ONLY business that did.. All the other things we bought, or places we lived, charged the credit card in the currency quoted!
So - if they would like to charge us in pesos, that should have been brought to our attention, and we could easily have walked to the nearest exchange office to get the rate 32,45 which one of the nearby offices had.
The hotel should not quote a price in USD, charge pesos, and tell us that the rate depends on the fact that they exchange money.. But they DON'T if they already charge the credit card in pesos... The money won't be exchanged to USD FIRST - and then sent to their account in pesos... So - why even bother with the exchange rates? Well.. Just because they wanted to get som extra "pocket stuffing"..!! *hrmpf!*
