I have been in the La Sirena on Ave Mella in SD quite a few times and the place is always packed. This one seems to do fine with little or no parking. Most of the Dominicans who shop here arrive by gua gua, publico, or moto.
The La Sirena on Mella is smaller than the multicentros, which are slightly more upscale in appearance and bigger like the one on Churchill across from the Acropolis Mall.

The multicentros all have ample parking and all of them have parking in front of the building (U.S. style) with the exception of the Multicentro on Churchill with its parking on the roof.

I will speculate that what will open in Puerto Plata might be a multicentro of some sort and I say this because the growth of the department store has been of the multicentro type and not so much of the stand alone type.

Either way this is good news for Puerto Plata residents. As customers they will have more choices when it comes to buy apparel, cosmetics, electronics, etc.

Plus, this means that new managerial, maintenance, clerk, etc job positions will be created. If you know anyone in need of a good job, try to help them secure one at this store before it opens.

They can even apply for a job at the La Sirena website.

This is good news all the way.
