If it is just for a few days and "basic" is ok for you, I strongly suggest La Posada de Piedra in Cortecito. (
Hotel Punta Cana, La Posada de Piedra-Republica Dominicana). It is basically a B & B but check out there website. Have stayed there and loved it each time.
