We checked it out last night (have a friend from Italy and one from Canada staying there for a week).
The exterior and public areas have been redone and are spectacular. The new casino and disco are great.
Maintenance and renovations are still being carried out in the actual rooms however the owner is very accomodating and working overtime to make sure guests needs are accomodated and repairs carried out as quickly as possible.
US$40 a night PP gets you an AI that is working hard to raise its' standards, with good food, grat location, great casino/disco and an animacion dept that works hard to make sure you enjoy your stay.
Better value for your buck this year than COOP Marena!
