however, the recent reports that hundreds and perhaps thousands of 'marriages' were "celebrated" by unscrupulous civil officials that did not register the ceremonies and which marriages are not legal here or anywhere, has raised the spectrum of so many people living "illegally" .....and of course the lawsuits will most certainly follow...
However, the OP wants to know if he/she can be divorced in the DR, and the answer is, of course, and a lot cheaper than in the UK....In fact the cost difference would pay for the flights over and back!!
