Some stuff that just was allowed out from the techs working on the Metro:
The version of the Metropolis 9000 that the DR ordered are 100% fitted to be operable without a driver, in the case of ours in the DR just as in the Barcelona Metro; it was decided to have one person in charge until an eventual sans driver run was done under actual everyday load operations.
The driver in that case will be there in supervisory and safety mode only.
All the cars are equipped with closed circuit monitoring and full stereo sound as well!
So! Be careful what you say!!!!
All the stations are 100% equipped to handle disabled passengers with ease to both platforms and trains... All elevators have cameras with two way communication on them and will be monitored all the time live.
All underground stations have air quality conditioners and monitoring of air pollutants, dangerous conditions will trigger alarms that in term will activate special filters and aerosols to neutralize any common threat.
There'll be police stationed at every single station on both sides of the tracks and undercover agents riding in the trains as well. Security will be 100% under control in the Metro.
If you think that anybody can commit the perfect crime in the Metro, think again! Top notch surveillance equipment is being installed in the Metro. Face recognition and face thermal patterns just like your own DNA will be used to catch any person committing a crime or petty stuff in the Metro system. Once you enter the system you're spotted by security after your initial hit, on your second visit the automatic system will spot you and raise an alarm to security and police.
The DR owns one of the world's top notch Metro systems, period.
Now comes the hardest part: Educating people to use the system properly...
A daunting task in the DR!!!!
I asked my family involved in the Metro system how would they have people not chew gum in the Metro and he said that very stiff fines will be handed out in the onset and much stiffer after...
So I asked, since when people pay fines when they don't have a driver’s license to lose? Well... He said, if they don't carry a cedula they will get arrested and fined even more to come out of jail! I'm quitting my chiclets once I visit SD!!!
