If you're talking about the bay where the boats head out to Isla Saona & Catalina Island, out in the middle is a really nice clear reef with plenty of fish and coral to see.
The only thing I would warn you against is the many boats that come and go particularly in the morning and late afternoon. Maybe tow a buoy behind you, assuming it doesn't cause too much drag
