Carrefour is hypermarket. It looks and feels the same was as Carrefours in Europe do. It's not a supermarket, it's hypermarket.
Hypermarket and department stores differ by the store size (floor space).
Big Jumbo's (e.g. Megacentro), Sirena Multicentro are also hypermarkets.
Regular Jumbo, Regular Sirena, Iberia, etc. are mini-wal-marts or department stores. You can find food, clothing, books, electronics, hardware, etc.
Nacional, Jumbo Express, Pola, La Cadena, etc. are supermarkets.
Ole, Zaglul, etc. are hybrids, mainly supermarkets but featuring clothing departments.
