They are correct, high density development does affect local weather patterns creating the city-island heat effect and such, but have anyone of them ever seen how small Cabarete actually is?
A few high rises here and there will NOT be enough to cause the devastating effects to the winds as some are claiming. A wall of highrises like those along Anacaona Avenue in SDQ might do the trick, a relatively large area filled with highrises and development like in the Poligono Central of SDQ might do the trick, more gated communities of villas and homes in the Cabarete vicinity might do the trick; a few high rise buildings here and there will not do the trick.
A few highrises doesn't equates to square kilometers upon square kilometers of development.
Or am I wrong?
