Who knows....? I guess they didn't know there were 2 sets of chips. I've been going to SD for 34 years and I never knew that, but then I don't gamble. Here in the USA there are only US Dollar chips - since someone told them they were playing in pesos maybe they assumed all the chips were pesos because it was the DR? Let's not forget the attempt to put bogus charges on their account after they were back home - something very wrong going on in that casino.
