La Mulata Road
From Sosua News:
Sosúa's Mayor, lic. Vladimir Céspedes, promised during his election campaign that he would asphalt the roads in and around the town. On Thursday 14 April, the asphalting of the main road through Maranatha was finally completed - sufficient reason for a street party.
The entire project cost around 1.5 million pesos. The Mayor was present on this festive occasion, and promised that the side roads in Sosúa Abajo were next on his list for renovation, followed by the secondary roads in El Batey (the tourist part of Sosúa). The asphalting of the road up to La Mulata will be achieved in consultation with the residents, and will take place at a later stage. At the moment, the roads in Los Catillos are being renovated, with new sewer pipes, street lighting, pavements and a new asphalt surface. This work will take several weeks to complete. However, the Mayor promised that all these roads, which are currently in such a bad state of repair, will be renovated before the end of his term in office.
