Have the 8 children get together and retain a real estate attorney who should be provided with a Certificate of Title in the name of Alpha.

The first step will be for the attorney to explore the possibility of evicting the occupants. If the answer is yes, then the attorney should proceed with the determination of heirs, payment of inheritance taxes, obtaining new titles and the eviction procedure.

If this turns out to be --as it is very probable-- practically impossible or too expensive, have the attorney explore how much it would cost to do a determination of heirs and pay the inheritance tax due, and how this compares with the income that might be obtained from selling the title to the occupants. If the sale of the title to the occupants (or some of them) is feasible, the 8 children might recuperate something from their neglected inheritance.
