In my believe the following is valid for men and women the same: There is LUST and LOVE. Unfortunately most people getting very confused about what's what and might think they are in LOVE when it's really LUST. Or they thing their partner is sleeping with somebody else, so he/she must be in LOVE with that person, but it's really Lust, not LOVE.
I think most people cheating on their partner are doing it out of Lust and are still in Love with their partner. I think we all know, if we really meet somebody and we truly fall in LOVE, we would want to be with that person regardless of the consequences.
Also, often people are still in LOVE with their long term partners but the Lust got a bit lost or is asleep.
But after discovering that the partner had something with somebody else, Lust can come back - once the initial shock of being cheated on is over....
Many long term relationships experiencing a second or even third spring after an infidelity was discovered and therefore it could become a great chance for the relationship.
Bottom line: Maybe women in the DR are more in touch with the truth and more willing to accept it as it is. Often people in the third world are living by: It is what it is and let's live with it. While most of us people in the so called developed world always have to push for the better and spend a lot of time with worrying about things we can't even change....
