Do you want him to be educated in English or in Spanish? It may also make a difference as to why you wish him to be educated in the DR. The fact that he will probably need to be in a boarding type of school needs to be taken into account also. I know of a boarding school whose classes are in English, which is called Escuela Carribe. It is located in Jarabocoa. I don't know much about Spanish schools, but there is also a large English school by the name of "Carol Morgan School" which is in Santo Domingo as well as an excellent English school located in Santiago called "Santiago Christian School". I most familiar with this school as I taught there for a year and still keep in touch with and visit every year. At SCS the students are mostly Dominicans who want the very best in and English education.
