Default Re: Rhadamés o Radhamés?

I beg to differ. Even though the correct spelling is Radhamés (as in the character in the opera "Aida"), Trujillo's youngest son's name was spelled Rhadamés. In doing so, Trujillo maybe got going the very peculiar Dominican habit of taking foreign names and changing their spellings for reasons of taste or ignorance. Something similar happened with the pronunciation of Trujillo's second name "Leonidas". All through my childhood I had to recite in school the name of "El Jefe", Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina, pronounced with the accent on the second syllable (Leonídas). Only later did I found out that the correct pronunciation was Leónidas.
