Default Pan Am plans to cut service

Pan Am Plans To Cut Service
Airline Will Ground Flights In January 2003/February 2003

With most airlines struggling for passengers and cash, Pan Am is taking a dramatic step in Sanford.

The airline now plans to shut down operations entirely from mid-January to mid-February, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.

Pan Am cut back many of its flights a few weeks ago after months of adding flights and activity, reports indicated.

It's cheaper to park planes during the slow season than to cut fares and compete for fewer passengers, a Pan Am representative said.

Industry analysts said it's a smart move and will allow Pan Am to come back stronger and better after the shutdown.

for the route Santo Domingo - San Juan - Orlando (Sanford) is cancelled for Mid Janaury till March 1st 2003

Pan Am will add a second flight daily Santo Domingo - San Juan in British Aerospace Jetstream 31 starting from Mid January 2003

PN 3744 SJU 12:45 - 13:45 SDQ (Jetstream 31) New Flight
PN 3745 SDQ 15:00 - 16:00 SJU (Jetstream 31) New Flight

It's possible thats the route Orlando - Santo Domingo will bet cut.
So we keep only 1 daily flight in Jetstreams 31.

Lightbulb Jeepers, What a Surprise

People belly ache about American's dominance on Latin American routes and the DR in particular - at least they keep flying every day and don't do this type of poppycock.

Anyone who would have reserved, booked or paid PanAm based on the track record up to now should have the rocks in their heads examined.

Default What a Joke!

This airline is. They should revoke their certificate of operations. But of course, they were buddy buddy with the Gurabo Guy.

They're buddy buddy with America's version of Hippo too. While his airline is a joke, he still has the huge Mellon inheretance to pass along to pols. I believe that he's a member of the ultra-right-wing Heritage Club.
