I plan to visit your island Sept 2003 for a 14 night honeymoon. Whilst there i have friends who will be marrying in New York. I would like to know the most cost effective way of flying to JFK from your island.

My resort will be puerto Plata.

you can get direct flights from POP to JFK or EWR (I think). There are ususally some pretty good specials that come out a couple of months before you are schedualed to fly. Just keep checking the American Airline website, even better sign up with their fare notification service and they'll email you their specials. You can also sign up for such services on travelocity, expedia, etc. That is the best way to know when a special fare is coming up. Then once you know there is that special you can compare shop with other airlines to see if they are running similar specials.
