General comments?
Good grief! Undoubtedly, the 767-300 looked beautiful from the outside with the tropical colour scheme. Even inside it was OK, but oh the service!!! H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. First at Las Americas Airport they only had 3 agents checking a 270 pax flight; line was unbearably long. Then the boarding process was chaotic since the good-looking petite agent did not have control of the rowdy crowd.
Upon boarding, it turned out the airplane is wet-leased from Air Atlanta which meant an Icelandic crew that could not even say "gracias". No problem for me, but what about the non-english speaking Dominicans who call Aeromar the new flag carrier??? Adding insult to injury, not only did they not speak English, but they did not even try to communicate with the Spanish speakers. Not to mention the snotty demeanour of the attendants.
All in all the flight was fine, but I was expecting true Dominican service and not a leachy airline that sells itself as "Lineas Aereas Dominicanas" just to give a more-than-gringo Icelandic show. Can't wait for the return flight I guess; I feel like I'm on an Ikea-ish commercial inside that plane!
On another note, the fare was not that low considering AA low-season specials. I don't know guys, AA might still be your best bet to travel to DR until a true Dominicana-Airlines type comes along (but with good service OK, just Dominican good service).
