Default From New York to peurta plata?

What is the easyiest and best way to get there? Also, any good deals at any hotels? Looking to come in this week or early next. Need to stay on the beach and not to far from the nightlife!

Lightbulb Many choices

Fly non stop on AA to POP from JFK 12 noon arrive 3:46. Or you can book last minute and get an all inclusive and charter fare if you are going next week. Some last minute charters for an AI are cheaper than the fare on a scheduled airline if you can tolerate either charter airlines or AI's which I cannot but many of course can.

You can ask a travel agent on charters and of course try www.expedia.com for air travel. Usually the best idea before just posting like this.

I'd think POP is pretty dead now in Feb. so the non AI's may offer deals in the $30 - 35 range per night.

The place is quiet but NOT dead. A lot of fun to be had. I was there less than 30 days ago.

American Airlines usually has last minute deals at their website and you can sign up to have these deals delivered to you via email. I catch 239+about 65-70- in taxes for 5 day trips all the time from JFK to POP.

I stay in Sosua but there is also Cabarete Costambar and Confressi that I like as well but don't stay there. In Sosua you can get a decent room from 15-35 depending on what you want. There is plenty of trouble to get into there anytime of the year.

Regards

CHeck Sosua by the Sea which is on a small beach along with an all inclusive which you wouldnt want. There are NO hotels on the Main beach. Just a question of closeness.

I like Villa Chessa which is walking distance to a small beach but out of town yet only 3 doors away from the Casino. Has a great pool, lovely grounds and comes with a great breakfast for 35 a night for a a/c 1 bedroom 2 bath apartment with a terrace.

Quiet, no noise except for the wildlife. The closest hotel to the main beach advertises on here. Something NEW in Sosua is the heading. Forget the name.

Good luck
