Post Aeromar route network plans SDQ gateway

TACA will be the first airline thats will use Santo Domingo as gateway to Europe (Stanley report).

Aeromar plan was and is to use is their own homebase as every airline to fly to USA, Caribbean / Latin America and Europe. So can use the passengers; Paramaribo - Santo Domingo - Madrid ( or JFK) in the same airline Aeromar so they can offer a special price. So flights from Europe and from Santo Domingo are full and their caribbean flights are good full so people can use SDQ as gateway.

(what every airline does) but in the DR their is not an airline thats use it.

Santo Domingo airport as conection

Not only Aeromar has this plans also Aero Continente, Mexicana and other airlines.

So know everybody can understand why Aeromar use B737 (its cheaper and they can offer cheaper fares) and why they have rented a B747 in 2001

In the future will SDQ one of the most transfered passengers in the Caribbean (currently SJU)

Today is different, now the most important thing is an ALLIANCE. For example all ONE WORLD's memebers will fly to MIA because it is a hub for AA, SKYTEAM will use NYC and ATL.

Now hub's location is not that important, the most important thing is alliance's airport in a region.

And to be able to create a hub you must be a big solid airline, and have many markets, you can't have a hub only for flights to MIA and NYC, how many planes do you have to use to collect passengers in Central America? Remember that hub is ment to exist for routes where you have no direct flights. On the other hand if there is a demand there is a direct flight. COPA is the best example, take a look at their routes and schedules.

But Aeromar will never be able to do it, if you can't fly normally SDQ NYC, if you go to STI to pick up passengers, so who will use that kind of service?

Post Aviastar

I know,

Aeromar will fly to Madrid an Paris and they have also offering flights to JFK and MIA but they have also flights in the caribbean for getting travelers to DR and they can also take a transfer on the same airline with end destinations Europe or USA.

About SDQ-STI-JFK this is not your problem this is normal that can happen when the time is bad. Do you want see an airline such as American Airlines occupancy 30% ofcourse they are keeping flying they will lost -24.000 USD on the flight so why AA is in the dead line, keep flying keep losing money.

The same as POP they have tryed but financial they have delete 1 daily flight.

Aeromar have a good service but sometimes they cant offer not only Aeromar also all airlines.
Also a small airline can dominar la aviacion dominicana.

Air Santo Domingo also cancelled flights to San Juan this week.

It's better to fly then cancelled the hole flight.

You know from the DR to USA their is no demand (except return flights) but from USA yes, reasons to full this flight on bad times and thinking to offer more in the caribbean.

Hipolito Mejia planned to convert all poor people in this country to millionaires before he won, so now what? This is very interesting, I remember their first flight to MAD, it was such a comedy. A hub in SDQ now? No way!
