Unhappy Yet another terrible trip with AA

Plane delayed, and delayed and delayed in MIA. I tierd and cranky but this is the second time in a row with AA. I want to stick with them for the FF miles, but...

If I had not chosen that flight specially because i could get home in the middle of the day, or gone shopping.

If they had just told us it would be 4 hours late in MIA 3 pm, I could have had a nap.

If i had only known I could have waited the 15 minutes for the shop to open that had something i should have bought the day before...

Or I would have bought 'Harry Potter' in Spanish at the SDQ airport to practice reading.

Shoot, i would have loved an extra day in DR.

so enough bithching, k

Default MIA could be the main problem

The MIA airport was recently chosen as one of the 5 worst airports in the USA. I can concur as I've had more "incidents" there than at any other airport along my usual travel routes. It truly sucks.

I've actually had pretty good luck with AA at other airports.

Unhappy Is it Am. Air, or MIA

I'm looking for cheapest tickets that is for certain sure.

Last time it was overbooking. This time, maitanence hold then weather. Is it AA or Miami that is the real propblem? And yes I would rather wait than fly unsafe. But i always get the feeling that they know from the start that it will be 4 hours and could just have told us. -k

Default Hmmmm

I have always taken AA, however I have never flown into Miami or out of there on any flights I have taken. I used to take AA shuttle flights to and from NY or Boston to Washington DC, my flights always left early and arrived early.

The only problems I ever had, was in February coming from Santo Domingo to Washington DC. I connected at JFK and by the time we got throught customs and stuff... our connecting flight from JFK to DCA had already left (without us). AA said that it was not our fault, as it was an "illegal booking" by an AA representative, who did not allow us enough time to board the connecting flight. They immediately got us tickets on the next flight out of new york (leaving LGA of course), stuck us in a lincoln town car, shuttled us to LGA, where we boarded promptly and arrived home, just about an hour late...

It seems that AA is very accomodating, however like I said... MIA might just be the black hole for flights.

It could have been worse. My friend is stuck in 'post pan am' quarentine with her horse, in NJ where the power went out.

I have flown AA 100 times and NEVER have had a problem of any sort. I once had a problem on the phone regarding freq. flier miles and the woman was rude to me. I got a call back from a supervisor who said the woman was chastised and I got a bonus of 5000 miles for having to endure the idiot. They monitored the call

I love AMERICAN AIRLINES!!!!!!!
