Transaero inngurated its first flight in PUJ

On dec 30 Transaero Airlines (UN) operated its first nonstop flight from Moscow to Punta Cana, B767-300ER made it in 12 hours 30 minutes. Until now it is the longest flight from Europe we have in DR. Flight arrived at 13 25, 5 minutes earlier than planned. Parked just infront of the entrance to the terminal it brought 231 passengers, 100% sold. Transaero Airlines provides premium service, its fleet includes modern 767-200, 767-300, 737-300 and 737-700. This carrier is the second worldwide carrier that recieved 737-700. Airline offers the highest level of security and during its 12 years in the skies never registered a single accident or major problem. This private company offers 99% ontime performance, wide pitch and premium meal services. EI-DBF returned to Moscow without passengers. Improved PUJ airport offered a descent service, Swissport provided extremely professional assistance. Time between arrival and being outside of the customs zone was 10 minutes.

Another russian airline operated a new flight to SDQ yesterday, IL-62M arrived from Moscow with a stop in Shannon, a plane will be parked in SDQ until JAN 11 and will deliver its passengers back as a single charter.

Russian tourism in PUJ is increasing this year, at this moment some hotels have more than 60% of its guests from Moscow. Another charter to LRM is planned for JAN 2.

The best about russian tourism is that the client from Russia is not an ordinary middle class worker like from Europe or USA. Russian tourists come only to 5* hotels, average package price for 2 weeks including airfare is 3500-4000 USD. Russian traveller spend money, visit casinos, does shopping and buy 4-6 excursions during the stay. Average amount a single russian tourist brings in cash to spend is more than 1 500 USD per traveller. Secretaria de Turismo loves russian market because they like to dinner outside of the hotel paying in cash, they don't use credit cards, bring cash, never ask for discounts and buy the most expensive things first.
