AA bumped by JetBlue for most boardings at JFK
Aviation Daily today reports that low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways has taken the No. 1 spot from American Airlines at New York- Kennedy, boarding more customers from the hub than any other carrier for the year ending October 2003. JetBlue boarded 6,832,622 passengers, while American's JFK domestic and international boarding count totaled 6,743,647. Based at JFK, JetBlue operates 214 flights per day and serves 21 destinations in 10 states and Puerto Rico with a fleet of 53 Airbus A320. The carrier currently has plans to add another 16 A320s to its fleet this year. Last year, JetBlue placed an order for 100 Embraer 190 aircraft with options for an additional 100.
