That is not a B777.
It is an A320 or 321 V2500 engine that lost part of his cowling after
improper maintenance was carried out before flight. Latches were left open and the preflight inspection has not been accomplished by the maintenance crew nor the flight crew.

It says its a hoax

"ALAS the above is pure hokum. The photo has been digitially retouched and this "engine fire" never happened. Nice story though!"

I agree...! it's an Airbus. There's lots of controversy 'bout airbus doctoring their maitenance records and NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) they've been going back and forth with accusations for years; this engine fire is a phoney; engine fire of this magnitude would cause severe problems.

Guys the one with the fire is a 777 unless the 320 has six tires on each main landing gear!

The one that lost the cowling indeed is a a320 and i believe it's from Ryan international if i'm not mistaken.
