Kyle was successful because Miami was his last stop
DiverRed wasn't because he passed thru a non secure area after exiting customs.
Even if you are hopping on another plane, you must stay in a secured area if carrying alcohol or any other liquid over 3oz. Once you go outside of a secured area in a US airport, there is no taking the liquid back in, unless it is 3 oz or less and fits in your 1 quart ziploc bag, regardless of whatever paperwork you may have or where you purchased it. More and more international airports are subscribing to the same guidelines, and some are even more strict (UK, France).
Note: US Customs at most airports will generally put you outside of secured areas upon exiting, regardless if you have a connecting flight or not.
So just plan on packing that luscious libation in your luggage or giving it up to a TSA agent at security if you want to get on another plane. Plenty of places around to buy alcohol before the airport and get it packed.

She can bring it with her. It must be packed in her CHECKED BAGS.
She will not be allowed to carry it on (since it is over 3 oz liquid and won't fit into a quart sized ziploc bag) no matter where her flight is coming from (or if she has a connection).
I would suggest wrapping the bottle of wine in a plastic bag, then bubble wrap and putting it in a box if possible, then another tight fitting plastic bag. Wine stained clothes don't make a great vacation wardrobe.
Here's hoping the Chateau Lafite makes it to the DR.

They are basically thieves. Last Saturday in Punta Cana the were confiscating all umbrellas !!
We broke ours in 4 pieces and then gave it to the CESA thief. Punta Cana is the worst airport in the country !!!
The rich people buying here will be in for a shock. Why Groupo Punta Cana lets this go on ... well go figure. But in the future people will select different destinations for sure

Hmmm...Why didn't you just check it. I don't think they will let you take your umbrella with you in The US either. Last, who the hell travels with their umbrella?

You are wrong... here is TSA rule....Umbrellas- allowed in carry-on baggage once they have been inspected to ensure that prohibited items are not concealed.
The CESA are thiefs. They try to take lots of stuff to sell later especially at Punta Cana Airport. And by the way lots of girls take compact umbrellas ang golfers take golf umbrellas cause they get broken in checked baggage.
My point is that you will not encounter these agressive CESA people at POP or SDQ, only PUJ !!

Any large size liquids- no way! But I mistakenly left a bottle of water (20 OZ.) in my carry on, not even realizing it, and they didn't notice...

When leaving Santo Domingo, the screener told me my unopened pack of AA batteries was illegal and she would hv to take them.
I told her to call her supervisor over, and she then said I could take them;

The EU announced this week that it plans to get rid of the liquid limits on flights in stages from next year... that might affect flights between the DR and Europe...

Hello,
I came to Punta Cana last year and had a lovely time. There was a Charge at Punta Cana's airport for entering yall country of $10.00. I am coming back in July. Is it still the same fee and is there a fee for leaving out of Punta Cana? Thanks
