Direct flight from Tornnto to Santiago
Okay, I have searched and searched and cannot find any info on direct flights from Toronto to Santiago. I do not like switching flights at all (last time I had to go to Miami and from there to the DR)
I know my parents and I used BWIA (west indian) airlines to travel directly from Toronto to Trinidad, so I was wondering if this airline also goes to Santiago, Dominican Republic (since the both the DR and Trinidad is in the Caribbean)
Or any other airline that does direct from Toronto to Santiago.
I know of JetBlue, but I really don't want to have to travel to Buffalo first, as Pearson ariport is 10 min from my house.
Any useful info is appreciated
Oh, and I am looking to go in February, proabably the 9th or 10th until the 17th or 18th

No direct flights from Canada PERIOD!!
Go to NYC, Newark Liberty or Miami for easiest connections.
If you go Jet Blue, you will have to make a connecting flight no matter...
Do have fun..

Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the info, although it is disappointing. I guess I have no choice, I have to do the dreaded switching

Wouldn't it be easier to take a direct flight to POP and then travel by taxi or bus to Santiago rather than go to Buffalo or other US ports?
Skyservice, Air-transat and Air Canada all have direct flights to Puerto Plata

Thanks for the info. Do you know the frequency of how often those buses run or when they stop for the night? I just want to be aware so that I know what time range to book my flight for.
I would rather not take a taxi, as I may be by myself and heard a horror story about the driver intimidating a friend of mine and playing games with the price of the ride. For instance, if it's at night and I am by myself, I would rather not take a taxi at night alone. Or is that story I heard rare?
Anna, your solution seems a lot more viable (2 hour ride, right?)

Of course you can fly directly to Santiago from Canada, you can hire a private charter jet, so it will fly nonstop!
P.S.
I searched, I searched, searched my whole life
To find, to find, find the secret
And all I did was open up my eyes
Baby we can do it, we can do it all right

The last bus leaves POP or Sosua around 8 p.m., I think"??
You can hire a GOOD taxi at Welcome To Paradise Transportation with total confidence.
They have become the darlings of DR1ers: Prompt, courteous, English speaking and absolutely no hassle--ever.

Air Canada does fly direct to Puerto Plata without the U.S. stop over. Air Canada does make a stopover from Toronto to Montreal and then onto Puerto Plata. Their rates are ridiculous though!
