Default Sleep over in Santo Domingo Airport?

I was wondering if anyone has tried sleeping over in the airport in Santo Domingo. Im in Las Galeras so it might be hard to get there and get my flight the same day, so say i arrive in the evening of 1st day, and have a flight for say 11am the next day. Wondered if that might cause problems, or if anyone has done it before or thinks it will matter.

I have spent a lot of hours in the terminal at Las Americas and am not aware of any place specifically for passangers to sleep over, though I'm sure the employees have their little hide aways. There are countless little hotels and guest houses within 3 or 4 minutes moto ride to the terminal. Perhaps a reader can recommend one.

a close place to stay might be nice, but whhat i was really wondering is if they just let you hangout there all night, sleep on a bench etc. You mentioned youve spent alot of time there.. so maybes it ok

The terminal at Las Americas is open 24 hours a day. Even in the wee hours there are flights arriving and departing. So you will find a place to sit out of the rain. These days airport terminals are designed to discourage homeless people from hanging out there. Bright lights, loud anuncements, hard armrests that can't be moved on the chairs, no benches long enough to sleep on, etc. If you want to try spending the night there it wont be a problem. Bring a good (long) book and be prepared for a sore butt.

So i decided to just go there and try sleeping over, i got there at like 9 or 10 pm, and my flight left around 1pm the next day i think. Anyways i found a nice place on the top floor it was a little dark and everything. I got woke up at 12am, and asked a bunch of questions, but the only issue was i was sleeping in a place that they shutdown after 12. So they made me go down to the lower floor (food court) and i was fine there sleeping against the wall, and on some cold hard chairs. Theres a playplace there that if you stay to the far side of they didnt bother me, and it had a green covering so it was nicer to sleep on then the hard tile floor.
