Default Air Dominicana

Felucho is quoted today in El Faro that Air Dominicana will do a maiden flight with Leonel aboard in early May with a 737 and they await other, larger aircraft to be delivered. 30% owned by the gov't and 70% owned by 'others'. wtf
Great time to jump into the business.
Maybe Chavez is trading Jet-A for ....(fill in the blanks).
ññoooo - que vaina.
Let's see what happens with all that.

That is a cool page. That plane is sitting in Spain right now. Can a 737 make it all the way to the DR nonstop? I thought they were kinda short range jets...

Default Too far from Spain non-stop

Aircraft Information: Boeing 737-300 | Airliners.net

Range with 128 passengers and standard fuel 3362km (1815nm), range with 128 pax and max fuel 4973km (2685nm). A quick check using Google earth to measure the distance of about 3588nm shows that the plane won't make it from Spain to the DR non-stop. Looks tricky. Possibly via Nova Scotia?

its only a charter airline for now..from what i know they will start making charter flights to Venezuela, Ecuador, and Colombia from Punta Cana..then adding JFK, MIA, and SJU as they get more equipment also from Punta Cana.

I wonder how much that Air Dominicana logo cost?

The first 737-300 has a serial number of 23628/1304 and previously flew for America West, Hola Airlines, Airclass Airways and Futura. How come they bounce around so much between airlines?

this particular aircraft is not 100% confirm on being on the fleet. i guess the delivery for the 737-800 got delay and they will be using this one on just to start operations on time like they promised.

the livery looks like it was just done really fast with no importance wich also makes me think thats a temporary livery till the other aircrafts arrive on may or june.
