As far as onboard service and comfort, and overall customer service- JetBlue wins hands down.
As far as the most frequent schedules, the most cities served, and FF program,-American

In fairness though, I haven't flown on Continental in 20 years, (when they were bankrupt) and never internationally.

I like two, Continental and Jet Blue. The decision as to which to use depends upon price and flight times. The only drawback to Jet Blue now is that they will charge $20.00 to check a second bag while Continental does not do the same on international flights.

In my recent trips to DR [over the last 5 years] I must rank them in order
1. Jet Blue [leg room, customer service, and DIRECT TV when in US range]
2. Air Santo Domingo [no longer operating, but FREE rum the whole flight? oh yeah]
3. Delta [and i have a ticket booked with them for August, on time, no complaints]
4. American Airlines [last in my book because of DELAYS, nothing ticks me off more than having to either WAIT to arrive and start a vacation or return home...]

We fly Jet Blue out of JFK, and the service is great, on time and specially now that they fly into POP, and you can't get cheaper fares...

Well not yet maybe but this is a growing trend I believe.
With gas prices soaring, this is one strategy the airlines seem to be implementing to avoid "fare increases". Also, with a lighter load, the aircraft uses less fuel so some people may think twice before bringing 2 pieces of checked baggage and may ultimately start travelling lighter.

I realize for many reasons many people dont like AA. But if you just considered a specific route that you personally take to and from the DR, and not all the routes possible between the 2 countries, you can compare the benefits of each to yourself.
I dont fly into any other city than STI....because driving back to the santiago area and then back to the airport from those other destinations isnt worth double the price of the ticket to me....
I consider available flights to be almost as important if not more than price.
many of us have a specific date that is targeted, moving the dates is a major headache. paying even $100 more for being able to go the day you want and the time you want to the place you want..is a BARGAIN!!!!
so I can save $75 if I fly one day earlier on thursday and I also fl;y to POP instead of on friday to STI..... ok so now I have to burn an extra vacation..pretty valuable itself and then I loose 4 plus hours of vacation time going and coming over the mountain, plus the costs of the trips!!!!
to SAVE $75??? that is insane!
I just punched in dates for the weekend before memorial day....jet blue offered a good early morning flight I like, but did a mid day return, and they were (finally) about $60 cheaper but I have to pay $20 for my seconf bag...and if it is 55 lbs i cant take it or have to empty some stuff out at the counter!!!
AA offered two flights non stop that day and the return is later in the afternoon like I want..I get 2 full bags and they let you slide for 52-54 lbs and they WILL take a 60lbs bag.
Delta didnt offer the thursday flight...they did fly friday though....but they were even more money that AA and their flight was a little later in the am and the departure was the same as JETBLUE.....but only one flight per day...so if there is an issue you cant pick up the second fligth in a pinch...you have to wait till the next day...IF they offer one!!
the big ticket for AA is that they actually offer like a dozen flights per day from JFK to STI...most being multi stops...but hey they offere them...so in an emergency you are better off!

thru all my years flying to the D.R ive flown on..American, TWA, Tower Air, Spirit, North American, Jetblue, and Delta.
in my opinion most of my best flights where on Delta hands down. love jetblue but thru my experiences with delta id like to call it a Jetblue with free meals lol
after flying Delta i said bye bye to American for sure (not like most people who say "esta sera la ultima vez que vuelo por esta linea" yet on their next trip is the first airline they search lol)
