Dear American Airlines
I read a review of this book in the Wall Street Journal on Tues 27th.Pretty funny stuff. A couple of excerpts;
"The flight cancellation means that he will miss his daughter"s wedding, who has been estranged from him for a long time, In his mind the occasion was to be his last chance to make things right. But first comes an opening salvo impugning the airlines competence.'Even now, Ford writes, " from my maldesigned seat in this maldesigned airport, I spy a middle aged woman waving her arms at the ticket counter like a sprinklehead gone awry" But he is sure that the woman's problems are nothing compared to his, because "his entire being is now dust on the carpet, ripe and ready to be vacuumed up by some immigrant in a jumpsuit"
On the ever present television monitors Ford notices that Light Sweet Crude is up 0.31 so he writes (while at the airport he writes these "letters"
to AA and then publishes them as a book) "Dear AA I haven't the faintest idea what :Light Sweet Crude is but what an irresistible heading for a personal ad. What do you think"
