I might be misunderstanding the question, but damaged aircraft are repaired at all the major international airports, as well, I have friends who have had entire planes, or just motors rebuilt at Las Herreras which has now moved to some other part of the city and bears a new name.
Other posters will know what it is now called.

Default hey avionics...

I think i can help....

Aerodom. and search for the telephone number of Joaquin Balaguer International Airport (More commonly known as El higuero) MDJB/JBQ

There are several repair stations based at the airport..... Also there is one at MDSI but that is a military base.......

With regards to large jets repairs, most airports operate on a turn around schedule in DR, so the maintenance that you can get on those stations are limited....

Hope that this helps..

regards

Default San Isidro

The Dom. Air Force has a certified repair center that also takes in private work at the San Isidro AFB in the capital, handling medium jet/turbo and prop a/c and smaller; the only one I've heard of in the DR. Repair at Higuero/La Isabela/MDJB airport is individuals, but one small company called REPAIR does routine oil&filter changes. No components - local owners send work to SJU or MIA. There are FAA certified A&P's at most all the int'l airports however if that's what you need.

San Isidro mtc. center: 809 688-3333 ext: 2696 or 2300. español will be very helpful when calling that number.

Gentlemen REPAIR is a company dedicated to sell parts they are not a repair station and civl aviation understands they are advertizing as such they can get in alot of trouble, so i'd like to clear that up to keep them from getting in trouble on the other hand there is a company with faa repair station certification and i believe they are at the Las Americas airport they are called TAC and perform maintenance on most light and heavy jets.

Interesting thread! Anyway, STIOP mentioned that airports in DR work on a "turnaround schedule". For those of us that are clueless about airplanes, what does this mean in terms of maintenance? What mechanical work/maintenance/check-up is done on a commercial airplane once it lands in DR?

I know that there's some repair capability at the airports, as I was on an AA STI-JFK flight that sustained damage to one of the turbine's fins during takeoff. We came back to the gate and left about 2 hours later, after repairs were made.
