You need to check in with Jet Blue for an international flight at least sixty minutes before departure. If it is less than an hour, they can refuse to allow you to board. Depending on the day (I fly out of Buffalo often on Jet Blue to the DR) there can be a line for security screening.

To be safe, you should figure on arriving around four thirty or so. That is an hour and twenty minutes before departure and gives you a little "wiggle room" if you get stopped at the border or there is a long line for airport security.

You really could have done the 55 minute connect. I did it less than two weeks ago and had no problems - even with the fact that I have an injured leg and tend to hobble rather than walk.

I can't imagine it being as busy at that time, but I can't even remember the last time I drove over the boarder so I may be wrong.

Where do you intend to cross the border? Whilst one doesnt anticipate a delay at that time of the morning, err on the side of caution and leave ample time so you dont get yourself stressed.

One thing you will never have to deal with are line-ups at the check in counter there, smooth sailing to say the least and wonderful agents.

(Fort Erie I believe is the closest crossing to BUF airport, with Queenston-Lewsiton not being too far either).

One more thing...Jetblue is the last counter to open in BUF airport, usually around 04h30.

I'm not sure which border I'll be crossing at... I assumed it would be the Peace Bridge, not even thinking about that there are others leading into Buffalo as well... I'm coming from Brampton so I'm not sure if one is more direct than the other from there?

Default Hurry - Great price

My wife just booked a one way ticket for me from Rochester NY through JFK to POP for Sunday Aug 16th, 2009 and the price was $149 US plus taxes for a total of $210. After she booked it there were only 3 seats available at that price.

It leaves ROC at 6:00 am and arrives in POP same day at 1:45 pm.

She just looked up the cost of the same flight that I am on from JFK to POP and it was $149 plus tax so basically the Rochester portion to me is free.

She also looked at a flight from JFK to POP earlier in the day leaving at 6:45 am from JFK and the cost of it was $129 plus tax (only 2 seats left as of right now).

Sure seem like good prices to me, but you gotta hurry.

Default return ticket?

I don't think you said whether you had a return ticket. I am flying Jetblue later this year and was told by them that I need to show a return ticket. That has happened before at JFK flying American so I thought I had better check. Policy of the airline - not immigration or customs.

One way and we have never had to show a return ticket. My wife flies back and forth all the time and usually one way from the US with never a problem.

I know several Canadians that have had problems. I called Jetblue and they told me that I needed a return ticket - maybe they don't check all the time, but that's what they said.
