Default Best Camerones in Cabarete

Name: La Casita or locally known as Papi's

Location: On the Beach - if you're facing the restaurants, with your back to the beach, you'll find Casa del Pescadore on the right and Papi's on the left corner - From Sosua side, I think it is the third or fourth little alleyway from the main road, down to the beach. Anyway, just walk the beach and keep your eyes open.

Reason why?: Simply the best tiger shrimp on the beach, served in large platters almost Paella style, as well as excellent fish, salads and other goodies. Service is usually good, although sometimes slow. Food is nicely garnished.

For a lunch, it can't be beat if you go upstairs for a table. We've recently had occasion to take some business visitors to Papi's for Saturday Lunch and we sat upstairs. Lovely views over Cabarete Beach and very quiet for a lunch meal, upstairs would arguably be one of the most charming locations on the beach. On this specific Saturday, we simply sat and whiled away the afternoon and our visitors were charmed.

Downside is that these days it is quite pricey and we don't go as often as we used to.

Before, it was $8 for a great meal. Those were the days.
