For those of you that dont mind crossing over to the Zona Oriental (eastern side of Santo Domingo) you will find the best empanadas at "D'Jonathan empanadas". This is located on the San Vicente ave. esq Costa Rica accross the street from Fortuna Car Wash (not across the san vicente ave. side, accross the Costa Rica ave. side). He is usually there from Thursday to Sunday during evening hours (after 7pm) (though your best bet is Friday to Sunday). The empanadas are about a foot long and you can choose the ingredients you want added to it and it is made right on the spot. Some of you may be spooked out by the location (theres a colmadon and several nightclubs in the area with alot of working class Dominicans partying) but it is generally a safe place to visit and maybe even have a beer while you wait for your empanada.
