Where can I buy fresh fish in the Puerto Plata area? How about meats? Is there a bucher in the area?

For fish my first thought would be the pescadarias right on the North coast highway in Maimon. They have the days catch on display and the idea is you choose what you want and they cook it for you, but I'm sure they will sell it as is. There is no ice or refrigeration, but if you went early enough it would be pretty fresh.

There is a fresh fish store in POP. I've been there once but have not returned. A friend was just showing us how to get there. Once I rediscover the name I'll let you know. The best time to get fish there, so I'm told, is first thing on Monday mornings.
