Default The Best Desert in Santo Domingo is at

La Cuchara de Madera. Their Vanilla Brownie with Ice Cream is the best. As is there Dulce de Leche cheescake.

Should be dessert. And you are correct, the dulce de leche cheesecake is to die for.

Two branches - both in Piantini. The main (new) one is on Jose Amado Soler and Federico Gerardino, and the original one is on Freddy Prestol Castillo, the street that runs behind the Acropolis, a couple of blocks north of the Acropolis.

I am a fan, and have posted enthusiastic reviews about them here, but last couple of visits I've been disappointed to find the cakes were not that fresh.
