Opus X Punta Cana

I have searched threads on here but haven't been able to find anything recent on the topic and anything I have found hasn't been too clear. I have a friend that will be going to Punta Cana in a few weeks. I am very interested in trying some Opus X....I live in Canada and retail for these guys is anywhere from $50-$80 CDN ($45-$73 USD) per stick so needless to say I would like to get them cheaper. I would love to buy a box of these at a reasonable premium price.

My question is where to get these in Punta Cana....my friend will not be able to tell a fake at all.....can somebody give me a garanteed place I can have him pick me some up? Thanks.

Also, there is a little bar on the street in Sosua, the owner is a very big dutchmen...half the bar is a large walkin humidor...does anyone know if he carries? I bought some Cohiba Blacks there which I quite enjoyed!

No, you can't. they sell them in Santo Domingo at 2X the NYC price...They sell them in La Romana at a place called Plaza Caribe or Plaza Columbus///something like that..

Only place fairly close. They MIGHT sell them at FUMA, which I think has a place there in Punta Cana...otherwise they will be fakes.

Am I better to just suck it up and pay the primo price here in Canada? Now when you say 2x the NYC price....I am seeing them for about $32/stick for the ones I want so are you saying that I'd be paying $64+ in DR for these?

Since I never buy them, I cannot quote actual prices, but that is what i have heard.
Your friend would have to go to FUMO or over to that Plaza in La Romana. I have not been there for a long time but the last time i was there I coughed at the price of an Opus X....
