The Maison Gautreaux is the original home of an old and highly respected Dominican family. The home is located in the Gascue section, close to the busy Malecon, which is the seafront boulevard running from center of the Colonial Zone out to the luxury suburbs. Nearby within walking distance, the travelers will find a multitude of restaurants, sandwich shops, discos, casinos, and 5 star hotels with their nightclub shows and all other facilities.
The Maison Gautreaux itself has 22 luxury rooms, each with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, in-room TV, room safes, and most with Executive refrigerators. There is taxi service at the door, 24 hours a day.
There is always action on the Malecon. The large rum and beer companies, as well as other major companies often stage special events, parades, concerts, outdoor dances, and other functions along the Malecon and in the parks, which are all along the way.
